NSHE Board of Regents Advances Leadership Transition at Nevada State University
The 海角乱伦社区 (NSHE) Board of Regents approved next steps for leadership at Nevada State University, authorizing the selection of an acting president to guide the university during this period of transition.
The action follows a recommendation by Chancellor Matt McNair, developed in consultation with Board Chair Byron Brooks and Vice Chair Stephanie Goodman and informed by input from Nevada State鈥檚 campus community.
鈥淭his decision allows us to move forward with identifying an acting president for Nevada State,鈥� said Board of Regents Chair Byron Brooks. 鈥淭his step ensures that the university will have dedicated leadership in place as we continue this important transition.鈥�

Former President Dr. DeRionne Pollard stepped down on September 5, 2025, to accept a national leadership role. Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater is currently serving as officer in charge.
