NSHE Board of Regents Receives Institutional Metrics for DRI, TMCC
The Desert Research Institute and Truckee Meadows Community College presented he 海角乱伦社区 (NSHE) Board of Regents with updated metrics relating to the institutions鈥� performance in the areas of Access, Student Success, Closing the Achievement Gap, Workforce Education, and Research.
The metrics were presented by DRI President Kumud Acharya and TMCC President Karin Hilgersom.
鈥淭he metrics associated with these goals serve as a gauge for measuring continuous improvement in the system,鈥� Board of Regents Chair Mark Doubrava said. 鈥淭he 2025 goals allow us to track our growth and improvement for the people of Nevada.鈥�
Chancellor Melody Rose added the metrics help increase transparency and accountability for how Nevada鈥檚 public higher education institutions are performing.
鈥淣SHE is committed to improving our state鈥檚 higher education system and these metrics will show what is working and where we need additional effort at our institutions,鈥� Rose said. 鈥淚 am encouraged by the commitment of our institutions to improve student access and success, especially at this moment of tremendous challenges to the health and financial stability of our communities.鈥�
NSHE鈥檚 strategic goals guide all eight NSHE institutions in supporting the state鈥檚 growing economy with an increasing demand for an educated workforce. By establishing a set of five strategic goals, along with a set of metrics and benchmarks aimed at increasing access, improving student success, closing the achievement gap, addressing workforce needs and solution-focused research, the Board of Regents is aiming to move the needle on Nevada鈥檚 higher education outcomes.
