Gov. Sisolak Signs Four Public Higher Education Bills into Law at NSHE
Governor Steve Sisolak visited the 海角乱伦社区 system administration Las Vegas office on Wednesday, where he signed four new bills passed during the 81st Legislative Session impacting Nevada鈥檚 public higher education system.
The bills signed include:
- – Makes a $25 million appropriation to the Governor’s Office of Finance for the construction of the UNLV Medical Education Building.
- 鈥 Establishes a pilot program relating to dual credit courses.
- – Requires establishment of a new Task Force and systemwide climate survey regarding Title IX and sexual misconduct.
- – Makes a $400,000 appropriation to NSHE and authorizes the disbursement of certain federal money to enable the College of Southern Nevada to fund the NV Grow Program.
Board of Regents Chair Mark Doubrava lauded Governor Sisolak and the Legislature for their work to strengthen Nevada鈥檚 public higher education system.

Sisolak and legislature鈥檚 support for the UNLV medical education building will go a long way to increase the supply of physicians in Nevada.鈥
