The º£½ÇÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø (NSHE) Board of Regents elected Regent Byron Brooks as Chair and Regent Stephanie Goodman as Vice Chair at its June quarterly meeting. Their one-year terms will begin July 1, 2025, and end on June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regent Byron Brooks<\/strong><\/a> was elected to the Board of Regents in 2020 to represent District 3. Regent Brooks is a U.S. military veteran with a deep commitment to service and community advocacy. He previously sat as a board of trustee for Congregation Ner Tamid, a suicide prevention instructor for the Nevada Coalition of Suicide Prevention, and a mentor for the Veterans Treatment Court. He previously served as Chair of the Board of Regents in 2023. He also leads the Investment Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Health Sciences System Committee. Outside of Board service, he is a small business entrepreneur, continues to mentor fellow veterans, and stays active in the Jewish community. His work across health care, veteran advocacy, and education brings valuable insight to the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regent Stephanie Goodman<\/strong><\/a> was elected to the Board of Regents in 2022 to represent District 13. Born and raised in Las Vegas, she is passionate about Nevada and deeply committed to making the state stronger through public service and education. A longtime communications professional and business owner, Regent Goodman previously served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Las Vegas, where she played a key role in the early redevelopment of downtown. She also leads the state\u2019s largest nonprofit gambling addiction treatment center, working to increase awareness and access to behavioral health support. A proud UNLV graduate and former student body president, Regent Goodman believes in expanding access to higher education and ensuring that every student in Nevada has a clear pathway from the classroom to a meaningful career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regents Brooks and Goodman will lead the Board in its ongoing work to support student success, strengthen Nevada\u2019s higher education system, and align NSHE\u2019s efforts with the needs of the state\u2019s workforce and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
